RAISING LOCAL LEADERS

In Northern Iraq you will find many Syrian families who have fled their homeland as refugees seeking safety and security in their neighboring nation. While many of these refugees have found physical safety in Iraq they have also found that creating a prosperous life for their families is nearly impossible. These families find it difficult to find work, Syrian children are not allowed to go to the public schools and cannot afford a private education, and living conditions are poor as many landlords take advantage of the families living in the rented homes and apartments.

One of the young women on our team in Iraq is herself a Syrian refugee and her heart was burdened by the needs these children have. She saw that children were playing in the streets, being injured by cars and motorbikes, or worse.

Since these children are not in school they are unable to read or write and they do not look forward to the future with hope. They may spend their whole day watching Youtube on an old smart phone or sat in front of a TV.

It was time for action! She decided to create a program to raise up leaders of this generation! This project was created to provide education (reading, writing, health and hygiene, art, and music), nutritious food, and fun for these little ones.

This project is about so much more than just providing education, food, and fun, however, it is about raising up the next generation to have a hope for their future and come to know the One who gives hope.

Consider giving to this project to support the work that our team is doing in the Middle East to provide hope and a future to these Syrian children!
